Nourish NC received $24,000 to support 2 new programs: The Food Farmacy Program addresses food insecurity of young children visiting the Nunnelee Pediatric clinic by providing a box of nutritious food and a prescription for additional food from Nourish NC. The Toddler Tummies Program delivers high quality food to the homes of under-nourished children. These 2 programs serve 800 under-nourished children in their homes and pediatric offices.

Med North received $24,000 to purchase essential equipment to allow them to perform more procedures in-house and also increase patient outcomes. The equipment included 100 blood pressure monitors for at-risk hypertension patients; 50 rear-facing car seats for newborns; LEEP equipment to remove cancerous and pre-cancerous cells in-house; and an additional autoclave sterilizer to allow them to perform more procedures. Med North serves over 7,000 patients annually in Wilmington’s underserved Northside community.

Wilmington’s Lion Club received $4,500 to purchase equipment to provide free screenings throughout New Hanover County to test for Glaucoma.

Smart Start received $3,500 to pay for accreditation of a staff member in the Attachment and Bio-behavioral Catch-up (ABC) training program which helps at-risk infants and toddlers.

disAbility Resource Center received $2,000 to complete a comprehensive Resource Guide containing health and wellness resources for individuals with a disability.
