Cameron Art Museum Boundless sculpture by NC artist Stephen Hayes, to be unveiled in November 2021. The first public marker to recognize and honor the valor of the US Colored Troops (80% of whom were formerly enslaved) who fought on that historic site in the Battle of the Forks that was pivotal in securing Wilmington, the end of the civil war and ultimately, their freedom.
